The First Two Weeks!

A Reminder to Parents: Before we can post pictures of your child or have them quoted on our classroom blog please remember to fill out and turn in the permission slip that is at the front desk!  We have lots of pictures that we would like to post but can't until we have your permission.

It has been a great first two weeks of summer camp for the Fox class. Apart from our weekly trip to Lions Park every Monday, our Students have enjoyed Bowling, Discovery Park, the Provo Splash Pad and Lowes Xtreme Air sports.

After visiting Lowes Xtreme Air sports, one of our students wrote, "Today was so fun! We went to Lowes Xtreme Air Sports and I saw one of my friends there that I probably wouldn't have seen for the rest of the summer. I haven't been there for so long and they changed it a lot! I want to go back again."

During Free Time students have also enjoyed playing educational games on our class IPad. After researching free IPad apps I picked about 15 different apps that will help our students develop a wide variety of skills including: problem solving, math (fractions, percentages and simple arithmetic), memorizing the USA states and capitals, understanding and recognizing synonyms, learning The Declaration of Independence, and many other cognitive skills. I have also enjoyed watching our students work together on the IPad to help each other solve problems and play educational games. Here is a website that provides you with a list of 55 free educational apps for the IPad. http://www.teachthought.com/apps-2/the-55-best-best-free-education-apps-for-ipad/
One of our students using the IPad to practice fractions. A great way to keep up on our math skills over the summer

Last but not least, we would like to wish a Happy Father's Day to all of the fathers, uncles, grandpas, and adult male figures in our lives. We hope you like the cards our students made for you!
